How to Get the Fishy Sprite in Fortnite

Fishy Sprite Fortnite render

The Fishy Sprite is the movement pick for water-heavy maps — swim speed up to +200% plus a speed boost when you take damage. It's a free world spawn. Once you've collected it once, you can summon the Fishy Sprite again for 1,800 Sprite Dust — usually faster than fishing for it in chests.

Where to find the Fishy Sprite

The Fishy Sprite is one of the five Rare world-spawn Sprites — it doesn't drop from chests. Instead it roams the map: spotted near high and mountainous areas. Explore that area and grab it when it appears, or skip the hunt entirely and summon it.

Ability — and is it worth chasing?

Ability: Swim speed greatly increased. Taking damage also briefly increases movement speed. (Swim/Move: 25%/10% → 50%/20% → 100%/30% → 150%/40% → 200%/50% across Levels 1–5.)

Verdict: Situational but strong for rotations. Cheap-ish to summon at 1,800 Dust.

Fastest way to get it

Because it's a world spawn, the fastest route is often to summon it for 1800 Sprite Dust rather than hunting the map. Farm Sprite Dust by extracting duplicates (a Gummy variant adds +10% Dust per extraction).

When is the Fishy actually worth using?

Rotation specialists and coastal-map games love Fishy. At Max your swim speed rockets by 200% and taking a hit briefly bumps move speed by 50%, so it's a mobility tool for players who live on the water and hate getting caught crossing open ground. It's brilliant for late-circle sprints across lakes. Bench it on dry, tight-quarters maps where swimming never happens, and in slow-siege playstyles that don't reward speed. The damage-triggered move boost is nice, but you shouldn't be taking hits on purpose to farm it.

Loadout & synergy

Fishy suits kite-and-reset kits: mobile weapons, mid-range pokes, anything that keeps you moving. The move-speed-on-damage effect chains well with hit-and-run peeking. It's a rotation Sprite first, so it favours squads coordinating water crossings, though a lone wolf loves the escape potential too. Weighed against Air, the other mobility Rare, Fishy owns the water while Air owns the verticals and fall-damage safety; pick by terrain. The Gold variant's 3x elimination XP is worth equipping while you grind, since you'll be zipping into more fights.

Is it worth chasing for your collection?

Here's the catch: at 1800 Dust to summon, Fishy costs eighteen times a standard Rare, so it's a surprisingly pricey pull for its tier. Its Gold variant tops the family at 0.64%, the highest Gold drop among the Rares, with a Cube at 0.21%. There's no Quack listed, so no mastery shortcut to lean on. That mix, steep cost and a genuinely scarce Gold, gives Fishy more collector cachet than its rarity badge suggests. Worth chasing if you value the niche and the Gold's XP multiplier.
